The goal of sociology is to provide an understanding of the scientific study of human behavior in social groups. Sociology is concerned with the growth of the individual within the wider context of society. In the study of sociology, the student is encouraged to develop a theoretical framework and technique of investigation useful for analysis and insight into group behavior.
The Bachelor’s in Sociology degree, requires successful completion of 120 semester hours, including (1) the Program of General Studies; (2) the sociology program; and (3) a program of electives or a minor as worked out with the student’s adviser.
