GlobalWV Event Registration: International Education Training and Networking Event at Fairmont State University on April 10, 2014
The themes of the 3rd GlobalWV Training and Networking event are: “international student retention strategies” and “financing for nontraditional study abroad students”.
The event will take place on the campus of Fairmont State University (in the Falcon Center third floor conference center) on Thursday, April 10, 2014. All higher education institutions in West Virginia are welcome to participate in this event which is free of charge. Activities will include:
A Networking Lunch from 12:30-1:30 PM to share information about best practices for recruiting and retaining international students and sending WV students abroad and brainstorm ideas for campus internationalization. (The lunch will be provided at no cost to participants and will be held on the Fairmont State campus.)
Presentation and discussion on Best Practices and Strategies for Retaining International Students conducted by Dr. Grace Atebe, Assistant Director, Student Support and Development, Office of International Students and Scholars at West Virginia University from 1:30-2:45PM.
Live webinar from 3-4:30 PM, entitled “Financing for Nontraditional Study Abroad Students” conducted by NAFSA: Association of International Educators. After the webinar, Clark Egnor, Director of International Programs at the HEPC will moderate a discussion of the webinar for those able to stay.
